As the summer comes to an end, I'm reflecting on the past two months with a more compassionate eye. My word for the summer is "full." Every week was packed with an event, visitors, workshops, coaching clients, dog sitting, and yoga classes in our home. It was important to me not to see any of this as negative. The word "full" feels appropriate. I don't need a "wow, you're doing it all," and I did feel like I was juggling 100 plates in the air and somehow keeping them afloat—most of the time. There were moments when I found myself in disbelief, and when I answered the question “how is your summer going?”, I would say, "It's going." I need a take 2: my summer was full of life, every moment was intentional, and I not only took care of myself, I also kept all the wheels turning. I was a thread in my family's tapestry, steady for my clients, and found moments to dive deep into schoolwork, create new programming, and work closely with new clients on leadership summits. My mantra of "I'm doing it all" has changed to "breathe deeply and pause to embrace this moment." Not sure if this resonates with you, and some of you may be in a similar boat of yearning for "free" time and then juggling everyone else's lives along with your own. Now that September is upon us, let's collectively take a moment to re-ground into the next period of time and be intentional with our needs and goals. Who's with me!! Exhaling alongside you. Cecily
